| What is Jedi
Knight: Arena? |
Jedi Knight: Arena (JK:Arena) is a
Total Conversion for LucasArts Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. Like
other recent first-person shooter games, JK:Arena will be completely
multiplayer-based with the option of using ai controlled bots (using
RBots technology) in single player mode. The gameplay of JK:Arena is
very much the
same as Jedi Knight, with a few tweaks and enhancements. There will be
several new game modes, weapons, items and Force powers. Much of
JK:Arena will be influenced by feedback from the Jedi Knight Community.
Capture and Hold:
The idea of this game is to capture the enemies base while defending
your own.
Domination:
The idea here is to dominate (duh!) a certain number of key locations
for a set amount of time. The first team to achieve the required amount
of points wins!
Instant Kill:
This is the style of game you should go for if all-out action is
what you're after. Each player wields an Enhanced Stormtrooper Rifle
that fires a bolt of of blue energy spelling instant death to its
target.
Last Man Standing:
This mode is similar to the regular deathmatch. It defers in that
instead of setting a time limit that must be reached in order to win the
game, each player starts off with a set amount of lives and all weapons.
Each time you die, you loose a life. When a you loose all your
lives you are eliminated from the game. The last man standing wins the
game.
Perfect Sword:
This is a quick style of game in which you wield your trusty Lightsaber
to duel your enemies. When you die, you are eliminated from the game.
The last man standing wins the game.
Retrieval:
This mode is similar to Capture-the-Flag in the fact that you have to
capture a flag and return it to your base. The will be three flags in
each level, which your team must return to you base. When a team owns
all three flags, they win the game.
Arc Welder:
Originally designed as an
industrial tool, it has been modified as an extremely dangerous
weapon. It fires a burst of white electricity on its target.
Ammo: Five power cells per fire. Blaster
Stun Rifle:
The primary fire of this modified Stormtrooper Rifle identical to
its standard counterpart. The secondary fire, however, fires a
bolt of blue energy which will stun its target and render them unconscious
for a few brief moments.
Ammo: Two Energy cells per fire (primary). Five energy cells per fire (secondary). Enhanced
Stromtrooper Rifle (InstaGib only):
The Enhanced Stormtrooper Rifle fires a a bolt of blue energy which
instantly kills its target.
Ammo: Two energy cells per fire. Fusion
Cutter:

tool, but can be used as a weapon in a pinch. The primary mode fires one
barrel at a time in straight, 3-shot bursts, while the secondary
mode fires all 4 barrels at once. Ammo: One cell per fire (primary). 8
cells per fire (secondary). Mortar
Gun:
The Mortar Gun originally appeared in Dark Forces. The Mortar Gun lobs shells that explode on impact.
Ammo: One shell per fire.

Drop one of these within the shadows to light up a dark- lit room. Grappling
Hook:
The Grappling Hook allows to to get to hard to reach places. Health
Tube:
Allows you to revive 5 health. Mortar
Gun Shells:
Ammo for the Mortar Gun.
